We have an amazing opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team in helping 16-18 year olds to live independently and to acquire the skills needed to live successfully in the community.

Our Support Workers are there to help shape, mould and take an interest in the lives of the young people we support.

We are based in Leicester (near the town centre) and this is the perfect role for a Support Worker who would enjoy being a mentor and guiding hand whilst the people we support transition from care in to day to day life.

The successful applicant will also be responsible for ensuring that the properties in which the young people live are safe, clean and equipped adequately. The young people may require support to attend Home Office appointments, medical appointments and college/ work interviews and the preparation for all such appointments will form part of your support. Modules such as budgeting, staying healthy, healthy relationships, British laws, systems and procedures will also be addressed and evidenced in the independence file.

You will be required to provide weekly reports relating to the content of your support for each young person and liaise with other professionals such as social workers. There are opportunities to take part in consultation groups, instigate activities and promote relationships within the community.

Our Support Workers need to be imaginative and have the ability to think outside of the box. You also need to have effective communication skills and be able to establish and maintain working relationships with young people. The ability to work effectively in a team is essential, you will need to be flexible and contribute to problem solving.
